Involvement in the church worldwide is an essential part of the DNA of the Brookside Church. It always has been; it always will be. We invest financially in various aspects of both local and worldwide ministry. The Brookside family is regularly represented by career missionaries and opportunity is given at various times for people to participate in short-term mission trips to parts of the world both close-by and far-away. Brookside Wesleyan Church supports prayerfully and financially the following missionaries and para-church ministries:

Global Partners Missionaries to Australia

Christopher grew up in a parsonage in the Western New York District of The Wesleyan Church. At a youth convention at the age of 14, he felt a call into full-time ministry. Melissa grew up in the Central New York District of The Wesleyan Church. She always knew that God was preparing her for missions work. Both Chris and Melissa are graduates of Indiana Wesleyan University and were ordained by the Western New York District.

In the spring of 2003, Christ and Melissa led a short-term mission trip to Perth, Australia. While visiting, they felt the Lord calling them back to minister to the people in Australia as full-time missionaries. Since 2004 Chris and Melissa have served as church planters in Western Australia.

Chris and Melissa have three children: Makayla (2003), Dawson (2004), and Brayden (2009).
Kevin & Cindy Austin
Global Partners Missionaries to Czech-Republic

The Austins served with sports ministry teams and as missionaries with Global Partners in Germany and then the Czech Republic for many years. They then returned to ministry in the States. In their most recent stateside ministry, they worked with students at Houghton College.

In early 2017, Kevin, Cindy, and Josiah, their youngest child, returned to the Czech Republic. A formerly communist country, very few Czechs know about God or their need for a Savior. The Austins are working in a young church alongside Czech believers. The ministry team uses camps, retreats, English classes, and small groups to build relationships with those who don't know Jesus and to disciple those who do.

Wellspring Ministries
This ministry offers practical outreach to the needs of others (meals, clothing, household goods and presenting the gospel to those in Allegany County
Gil's Hills
This active outreach ministry to children and youth who are in need of special attention was founded and named after a devoted Christian man from Wellsville, the late Gil Parker. Today the wooded retreat center is run and managed by The Rev. Ken Jordan.
Southern Tier Youth for Christ
This active outreach ministry to the youth in the Southern Tier region of Allegany & Potter Counties (New York & Pennsylvania) is reaching out to teens with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The YFC offices are located in Wellsville and the current director is Joy Dygert.
Houghton Academy
Brookside gives their prayerful and financial support for Allegany County's only private high school which is located in Houghton, New York and serves both local and international students. The current Headmaster of Houghton Academy is Dr. John Nelson.
Jericho Road Ministries
Brookside offers prayerful, financial and hands-on support for this medical assistance outreach ministry to refugee families living on the West side of the city of Buffalo, New York.
WNY Church Multiplication
The church contributes a portion of missions contributions received as an investment into church planting ministries within the Western New York District of The Wesleyan Church.
WNY District Partnership
The WNY District of The Wesleyan Church encourages local churches to partner with other churches within the district in order to assist and encourage them in their ministries. Brookside Church is currently partnered with the Bellville Wesleyan Church, a small church in Caneadea, NY (near the south shore of Rushford Lake).
Additional Participation
Additional outreach ministries that are not directly supported by Brookside but that the church joins with to support on various occasions are World Hope International and Bright Alternatives.
